METROID (1987)

Metroid Arcade Game

That's right, the 80s arcade game Metroid, far from the sophistication of contemporary versions (Gamecube, Playstion, PC, etc.), started out in the 80's as a scrolling video game.  Evidently you guided Samus along until reaching the big boss at the end, much like you do on your Nintendo these days.  Later versions of this classic 80s video game have been extremely popular.  The video below dates Metroid to 1986.
