Roseanne

Roseanne TV Show

Roseanne was an award winning family comedy that ran from 1988 to 1997 on ABC.  The show was basically about the everyday lives of the working class Conner family.  There was Roseanne Conner (Roseanne Barr), Dan Conner (John Goodman), D.J. Conner (Michael Fishman), Darlene Conner (Sara Gilbert), and Becky Conner (played by both Lecy Goranson and Sarah Chalke).  Many people consider this show to be one of the greatest shows of all time.  It consistently ranked in the top 20 for Nielsen for all but one season, and even hit number 1.  The show won a number of Emmys and Golden Globes.

The Conner family lived and worked in the fictional town of Lanford, Illinois.  The Conners were a working class family, struggling to make ends meet on a limited household income.  Family members consisted of the outspoken mother, Roseanne (Barr), father Dan (Goodman), and the three kids Becky (Chalke), Darlene (Gilbert), and D.J. (Fishman).  The show’s humor revolved around the stress of life and the normal (and not so normal) situations the Conner family finds themselves in.  In addition, much of the story lines between episodes revolved around whatever new job Roseanne was doing (she hopped around a lot).
