Axia Hair Metal Band

Axia was a Swedish, melodic metal band that was formed in the mid 1980’s by vocalist Peo Pettersson.  They released an EP in 1985 on their own label, titled Charge It Up and Blast It Out, and their first full album was released in 1986 (self-titled).  In 1989, Pettersson left Axia to sing for another band called Leviticus (Axia did continue on with a new vocalist).  For those that recognize Leviticus as a Christian band, Axia too was known to be a Christian band, however they were more subtle than bands like Stryper, Barren Cross, and Bloodgood.

Their 1986 self-titled release is a solid metal effort.  As the years went by, Axia continued to be somewhat active, and Peo returned years later and the band released some new material in 2009.
