Blue Murder Hair Metal Band

Founded on the guitar playing of former Whitesnake and Thin Lizzy guitar front man John Sykes, Blue Murder was formed in 1988 after Sykes was forced to leave Whitesnake while at the same time picking up a deal with Geffen records.  There really is not too information out there about Blue Murder, which is somewhat surprising considering Sykes' background.  Carmin Appice, founder of the band King Kobra, was Sykes' drummer. 

We own both their self-titled album, from 1989, and their 1993 album (Nothing but Trouble).  This metal is not your stereotypical 80's metal, and is somewhat hard to describe.  If you are expecting Whitesnake songs like "Still of the Night" or "Slide It In", you will not get that here.  Regardless of how you might describe this music, Blue Murder grows on you, and we would not give up these albums.   

Some early demos of the band featured Ray Gillen (Black Sabbath, Badlands) on vocals, but official releases featured Sykes on vocals.
