Precious Metal Hair Metal Band

Precious Metal was an all-female metal band that formed in Los Angeles in the early 1980’s.  The band became a regular fixture at clubs like the Whisky a Go Go and the Roxy in Los Angeles, and before long, they caught the attention of the head of Polygram Records.  The band’s first release, Right Here, Right Now, hit shelves in 1986.  You may remember the song “Bad Guys” from this album that received a bit of airplay on Headbanger’s Ball.  Precious Metal would go on to release two more albums, That Kind of Girl (1988) and a self-titled album in 1990.  They did a great cover of the song “Mr. Big Stuff” on their 1990 release.

Precious Metal is probably our favorite female rock band, and that even includes metal bands fronted by females like Lita Ford, Saraya, and Femme Fatale.  This is mainly because they had a more pop metal sound (compared to all female bands like Phantom Blue, for example, which had a much harder sound).  At the time of this writing, the last known performance of Precious Metal was for a benefit concert in Los Angeles in 2014.  The Precious Metal Discography is as follows:
