Saraya Hair Metal Band

Saraya started out as a band named Alsace Lorraine in New Jersey.  After the band moved to Los Angeles, they changed their name to Saraya after their female vocalist, Sadi Saraya.  When things did not work out in L.A., they moved back to Los Angeles, put a new band together, and landed a record deal.  Saraya released their self-titled debut on PolyGram Records in 1989.  It was PolyGram's intention to exploit Sandi's sex appeal.  The album did fairly well, peaking at 79 on the Billboard 200.  Some of you may remember the songs "Love Has Taken Its Toll" and "Back to the Bullet" from this release, which landed at 64 and 63 (respectively) on the Billboard Hot 100.

Saraya's follow-up release, When the Blackbird Sings (1991), featured fewer keyboards and more guitars.  This would be their final release.  At the time of this writing, Saraya was inactive.  The Saraya Discography is as follows:
