George Thorogood Band

If George Thorogood drinks as much as he says he does in his songs, it is hard for us to understand how his liver is still functioning.  Besides, it would be days before his dead body was found (he drinks alone).  George Thorogood grew up in Delaware, and actually played semi-pro baseball back in the mid 1970's.  He played second base and was actually voted rookie of the year.  By the late 1970's, George turned his bat and glove in for a guitar, and the rest is history.  George created his first demo, called Better Than the Rest, back in 1974, but this album was not actually released until 1979.  His first known release was the self-titled George Thorogood and the Destroyers in 1977.  This is the album that featured the song "One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer"

In 1978, George Thorogood released the album Move It On Over, which featured the hit songs "Please Set a Date", Bo Diddley's "Who Do You Love", and the title track (remake of a Hank Williams song).  In 1982, the album Bad to the Bone was released, which featured the title track and the song "No Particular Place to Go".  The album Maverick was released in 1985, and featured the song "I Drink Alone".  You may also remember the song "You Talk Too Much", from the band's 1988 release Born to Be Bad.

As the years have gone by, George Thorogood has continued to produce and tour.  At the time of this writing, the George Thorogood and the Destroyers Discography was as follows:
