Jackson Browne Singer

For most of us, Clyde Jackson Browne was more of a 70's star than an 80's, but read on.  Jackson Browne joined the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 1966.  He moved from band to band and wrote songs for a number of big names, such as Gregg Allman, the Eagles, Linda Ronstadt and many more.  By 1971, Browne had more than made a name for himself, and his self-titled debut album was released.

Jackson Browne had many hit songs in the 1970's.  Some you may remember include "Doctor My Eyes", "Here Come Those Tears Again", "Running on Empty", and "Stay".  In the 80's, as his political opinions began to take root in his music, Browne released a number of albums with hit songs.  You may remember the songs "Boulevard" and "That Girl Could Sing" from Hold Out (1980), "Tender is the Night", "For a Rocker", and the title track from Lawyers in Love (1983), "For America", "In the Shape of a Heart", and the title track from Lives In the Balance (1986), and "Chasing You Into the Light" from World in Motion (1989).  Also, many of you will remember the song "Somebody's Baby" from the Fast Times at Ridgemont High move soundtrack.

Jackson Browne continued releasing new material well past the 80's, although equaling the success of the old says has been elusive.  He is known as an active participant in the Democratic party, often performing at various rallies.  At the time of this writing in late 2013, Jackson Browne was still very active.  The current Jackson Browne Discography is as follows:
