Rambo Survival Knives

In the movie First Blood (1982), John Rambo is played by Sylvester Stallone.  Fans of the show will remember that during Rambo's arrest by the Sherriff on the bridge, he finds a large survival knife attached to Rambo's belt.  When the Sherriff asked Rambo what he used it for, he replied "for hunting...everything".  This huge knife becomes one of Rambo's main weapons in the entire Rambo movie series, and the popularity of such knives grew tremendously as a result.  You could buy cheap survival knives or expensive ones.  The cheaper versions of the knife had a compass on the top, while Rambo's compass was on the underside of the screw top.  Unscrewing the top of both types would reveal a compartment filled with a number of goodies, such as matches, fishing line, and a small wire saw.  After cutting his arm badly jumping from the cliff in First Blood, Rambo used the thread and needle from this knife to sew himself up.  This was before the Internet, of course, so the only place you could buy one was through the mail or at a sporting goods store.  Many outdoors oriented gift shops also carried their own version.
