Look Who's Talking

Look Who's Talking Movie Poster

"He's hip, he's slick and he's only 3 months old.  He's got John Travolta's smile.  Kirstie Alley's eyes.  And the voice of Bruce Willis...Now all he has to do is find himself the perfect daddy."

Look Who's Talking was released in 1989.  It did well enough to warrant a couple of sequels, and Look Who's Talking Too was released in 1990 and Look Who's Talking Now in 1993.  The original starred John Travolta as James Ubriacco and Kirstie Alley as Mollie, and the voice of Bruce Willis for the baby.  The movie was a hit with critics and was a huge money maker.

In this movie, Mollie is a NYC accountant who ends up getting romantically involved with a married man.  She gets pregnant, and even though the father claims to be taking responsibility, in reality he is simply a player looking for new conquests.  Mollie is heartbroken, but before she can swallow everything that is happened, she goes into labor, being taken to the hospital by a cabbie named James (Travolta).

When James comes into the hospital while the baby is being delivered, the staff presumes he is the father.  While returning Mollie's purse, James ends up bonding with the baby during a later visit to Mollie's apartment.  While Mollie continues looking for a suitable father for Mikey (the baby), she begins to realize that James might just be that guy, even as Mikey's biological father drifts in and out of the picture.  In the end, Mollie does choose James, and the couple live happily ever after.
