An American Werewolf in London Movie Poster

An American Werewolf in London was a horror comedy released in 1981.  The movie received more positive reviews than negative in 1981, and ultimately it was a money maker at the box office.  The movie is still considered by many to be a classic 80's horror comedy.  Some of you may remember the sequel in 1997 called An American Werewolf in Paris.

In this movie, two friends, David and Jack, are backpacking through England's North York Moors National Park.  After stopping at a pub, they are warned to stay on the main road while traveling.  They don't listen, and instead venture out into the moors to camp.  After hearing howling, they decide to return back to the pub, but they are attacked by a werewolf, which kills Jack and injures David before being killed by pub patrons.

In David's dreams, his friend Jack warns him that he too will turn into a werewolf soon, and that David should kill himself before he turns and begins killing others.  True to the dreams, David turns into a werewolf, and goes on a killing spree.  In the end, his love for a girl stops his aggression just long enough for the police to shoot him to death.
