Purr-Tenders

Purr Tenders Plush 80's Toys

These deceitful, plush cats felt as though they had to disguise themselves as other animals to get adopted out of the pound, such as ducks, rabbits, or even dogs (yes, its true).  What a nice message to send to the kids.  They were made by Fisher Price in the late 80’s, and when you squeezed them, they would purr.  Now the purr sounded nothing like what it did in the commercial, but instead was some type of weak vibrating device.  The disguises amounted to nothing more than fake ears and a fake nose that could be removed to reveal…a cat.  You could also find small versions of the Purr-Tenders at Burger King.
