Crater Raider

Crater Raider was a somewhat rare Bally Midway game released in 1984.  We have included here because we wasted more than a pocket full of quarters playing it in the mid 1980’s.  In Crater Raider, the player controlled a tank through a series of craters in an effort to rescue hostages and blow up enemy tanks and UFOs.  Once all the enemies were eliminated, the player would advance to the next level.

There were both stand-up and sit-down versions of this game.  On some versions, if not all, the screen was curved to simulate depth.
