Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, based on the Harrison Ford film by the same name, was released by Atari in 1985. It was the first game released by Atari to feature digitized voice, and sound clips from the movie were used. In this game, following the plot of the movie, the player assumes the role of adventurer Indiana Jones, who must infiltrate the Thuggee cult to both rescue his friends, and to recover the stolen Sankara Stones. There were five levels to the game: The Subterranean Mines, a Minecart Chase, the temple, a bridge level, and a challenging round which takes Indy back to the subterranean mines. Indy’s only weapon was his trusty whip, which he would use to break locks, fight bats, and stun the Thuggee guards.
