Hotel was a romance drama that ran from 1983 to 1988 on ABC, airing just after Dynasty.  This Aaron Spelling show was based on a 1965 novel by Arthur Hailey and 1967 feature film of the same name, and was set in the fake St. Gregory Hotel in San Francisco.  The show starred Anne Baxter as Victoria Cabot, Connie Sellecca as Christine Fancis, and James Brolin as Peter McDermott.  The show was also famous for the huge number of guest stars that graced the set (Johnny Depp, Steve Allen, Scott Baio, Alec Baldwin, George Clooney, Morgan Fairchild, Sarah Jessica Parker, River Phoenix, Elizabeth Taylor, and many more).

Initially, rich aristocrat Victoria Cabot (Baxter) ran the hotel, with Peter (Brolin) serving the role of general manager, and Christine (Sellecca) as assistant manager.  As the series rolled on, Victoria was killed off.  After leaving the hotel to Peter, Christine was promoted to general manager and the two became romantically involved.  Fans of the show will remember that it was not comedic in nature, but instead dealt with issues like rape, homosexuality, child abuse, and abortion, in a serious way, as guests checked in and checked out.
