Femme Fatale Hair Metal Band

Even though they all looked like Femmes, there was actually only one Femme in this band (Lorraine Lewis - middle).  Femme Fatale was a short lived 80's metal band from Albuquerque, New Mexico circa 1987.  After moving to Los Angeles, Femme Fatale signed with a subsidiary of MCA Records and then produced their self-titled album in 1988.

Femme Fatale's signature release was well received.  The album charted at number 141 on the Billboard Top 200 and featured the songs "Falling In and Out of Love" and "Waiting for the Big One".  Many of you may remember that the music videos for these two songs received heavy rotation on MTV.  This success lead to a tour with the band Cheap Trick.

Unfortunately, Femme Fatale was unable to maintain this momentum.  After losing favor with MCA and having some issues with their manager, the band dissolved by 1990 despite efforts to create new material (the album was going to be called Lady in Waiting).

Some interesting tidbits about the Femme Fatale band members:  Lorraine Lewis (the Femme) went on to a solo career playing country-rock music; Mazzi Rawd, one of the band's guitar players, earned his PhD in Physics and became the VP of a large company (he probably cut the hair by now); Bill D'Angelo died in 2005 of a heart attack.  At the time of this writing, and not likely to change, the Femme Fatale Discography is as follows:
