King of the Hill was a band from St. Louis, MO that started out as a cover band called Broken Toyz. After slowly introducing original material in their cover sets, they eventually became popular enough to play original material only. They signed a record deal in 1990 and released their debut album (self-titled) a year later. Some of you may remember the song “I Do U” from this album, which was featured on Headbanger’s Ball. The band toured with bands like White Lion, Lynch Mob, Steelheart, and Extreme.
King of the Hill was described as a bit of a charismatic band based on the antics and costume changes of the band’s lead singer, Frankie Muriel. For whatever reason, King of the Hill was not able to complete a follow-up album. The King of the Hill Discography is as follows:
