Robert Tepper, from New York City, released his first studio album, No Easy Way Out, in 1986 after moving to Los Angeles and signing a record deal with Scotti Bros. This album featured the song he is probably most recognized for, that being the title track (peaked at no. 12 on the Mainstream Rock charts and no. 22 on the Billboard Hot 100). The song was also featured on the Rocky IV movie soundtrack. Another song from this same album, “Don’t Walk Away”, also did fairly well on the charts. Tepper was also known for his collaboration with Benny Mardones on songs like “Into the Night”. Tepper’s follow up release, Modern Madness, was released in 1988.
Over the years, Tepper has remained active in the music business, mainly as part of the group Iron Butterfly. His latest release was in 2012, and is a significant departure from his hard rock sound of the 1980’s. If you like Bryan Adams, Rick Springfield, and the early rock sound of Michael Bolton, then you will like Robert Tepper’s 80’s albums. The Robert Tepper Discography is as follows:
