Animotion Band

Animotion formed in 1983 in Los Angeles by members of a band called Red Zone.  Animotion quickly signed with Polygram and their self-titled debut hit shelves in 1984.  In 1985, the single "Obsession" from this album became a huge hit for the band.  This song was actually written by Holly Knight and Michael Des Barres for the 1983 movie A Night in Heaven.  The follow up single to their debut, "Let Him Go", also made the Top 40.

Animotion followed up their debut with Strange Behavior in 1986.  Although this album did not nearly as well in the USA as it's predecessor, the song "I Engineer" from this album was a huge hit in countries like Germany, South Africa, and Switzerland.  In the mid to late 1980's, Animotion toured heavily.  They could be found sharing the stage with bands like Depeche Mode, The Eurythmics, Genesis, and INXS.  The band's final release, Animotion (Room to Move), was released in 1989.  By this time many of the original band members had left the group, but they band still managed to produce the hit song "Room to Move", which was also featured in the movie soundtrack for My Stepmother is an Alien.

It was after this third release that Animotion broke up, and it wasn't until 2001 that original members of the band had a reunion tour.  At the time of this writing in 2013, Animotion could still be found on stage from time to time.  The Animotion Discography is as follows:
