Oran Juice Jones Singer

Oran Juice Jones was born in Houston, Texas, but raised in Harlem (New York).  Jones graduated from the US Naval Academy in 1981, ultimately becoming the second black Brigade Commander in all of Naval Academy history.  He also served in the US Marine Corps until 1986.  Jones was actually a soul singer, hidden in the wrapper of a gangster.

After landing a record deal in the mid 1980's, Jones released his debut album, Juice, in 1986.  Some of you may remember the song "The Rain" from this album, which peaked at no. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100.  His follow up release, G.T.O. (Gangsters Taking Over), (1987), was not as successful, but still featured the songs "Rock the Night Away" and the duet with Alyson Williams called "How to Love Again".  His final release of the 1980's was To Be Immortal in 1989.

After his 1989 release, Jones left he industry to focus on his family.  He would not release new material again until 1997, instead working with others on their albums, including his own son and daughter.  The Oran Juice Jones Discography is as follows:
