Ray Parker Jr. Singer

Detroit's Ray Parker, Jr. started his music career young, and in the 1960's, while still in high school, Parker performed with the house band at the 20 Grand nightclub.  As the years progressed, Parker played guitar for groups like The Spinners, Stevie Wonder, Barry White, and then in his own band Raydio.  He also did tons of session work for other heavy hitters, like the Temptations, Chaka Khan, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, LaToya Jackons, Run DMC, and many more.

Ray Parker, Junior's band, Raydio, debuted in 1978, and had a hit song called "Jack and Jill".  Another one of their hit songs was called "You Can't Change That".  By 1980, the band had changed names to Ray Parker Jr. and Raydio, and they had several more hits in the early 80's, including "Two Places at the Same Time", "That Old Song", and "A Woman Needs Love (Just Like You Do)".  By 1981, Parker had split with the members of Raydio, as he pursued a solo career.  He had a number of early 80's hits as a solo artist, including "The Other Woman", "Let Me Go", "Bad Boy", "I Still Can't Get Over Loving You", "Jamie", and of course the infamous title track from the Ghostbusters movie soundtrack.

Parker continued producing and working in the music industry post 80's, but he was never able to regain that limelight.  At the time of this writing in late 2013, he was known to still be active.  The Ray Parker, Jr. Discography is as follows:
