"Go ahead...Make my day...you've got to ask yourself a question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?" The movie Sudden Impact, released in 1983, was fourth in the Dirty Harry movie series, starring Clint Eastwood as detective Harry Callahan.  The prior movies to Sudden Impact were Dirty Harry (1971), Magnum Force (1973), and The Enforcer (1976).  The last installment was the 1988 movie, The Dead Pool.  Although Sudden Impact had mixed reviews, it was a box office success.

The movie series started out in 1971 with detective Harry trying to track a serial killer.  Eastwood's character is an unorthodox, tell-it-like-it-is cop.  Although he rubs people the wrong way, he gets the job done.  In Magnum Force, Harry goes about the business of stopping a group of crooked cops who are killing criminals that managed to get off in court.  The Enforcer finds Harry battling a terrorist ring while paired up with a female by-the-book partner.

In Sudden Impact,  Harry is forced to go on vacation after causing a mob boss, Threlkis, to have a heart attack at his granddaughter's wedding.  During vacation, Harry finds that the Threlkis gang is out for revenge, and they try to kill Harry.  At the same time, Harry finds himself investigating murders in a small town, that are being committed by a female rape victim who is out for revenge.  Harry ends up falling for the rape victim, and after Harry discovers the rapists and the gang are connected, he goes about the business of saving the girl and killing all the baddies.

In the final film, the Dead Pool, Harry finds his name on a "dead pool" list, where people bet on which famous person will die next.  The only problem is, that somebody is rigging the game by actually killing the people on the dead pool list.
