Revenge of the Nerds
"They've been laughed at, picked on and put down. But now it's time for the odd to get even. Their time has come.". Revenge of the Nerds was released in 1984, and the sequel, Nerds in Paradise, in 1987. There were two more sequels released in 1992 and 1994. The original movie starred, as the nerds, Robert Carradine as Lewis Skolnick, Anthony Edwards as Gilbert Lowe, Timothy Busfield as Arnold Poindexter, Andrew Cassesse as Harold Wormser, Curtis Armstrong as Booger Dawson, Brian Tochi as Takashi Toshiro, and Larry B. Scott as Lamar Latrelle. Although the original movie met with mixed reviews, it was a huge success at the box office.
In a world where jocks rule and the girls play hard to get, a group of nerds try to make their way as freshmen at Adams University. The problems begin with the Alpha Betas fraternity burns down their house and takes over the freshmen dorm. The displaced freshmen are allowed to join other fraternities, or find other housing, and friends Lewis (Carradine) and Gilbert (Edwards), along with outer Computer Science nerds, begin renovating an old house to serve as their fraternity. The “jock” fraternities continue harassing the nerds, who are unable to get relief from the Greek Council due to the fact that they themselves are not part of any fraternity. Eventually, the nerds are able to join a black fraternity, called Lambda Lambda Lambda (Tri-Lambs), on a probationary level. Eventually the nerds pull enough pranks against their enemies to warrant full membership into the Tri-Lambs, but the harassment didn’t stop.
Knowing their only solace would be in gaining a controlling interest in the Greek Council, the nerds go about the business of defeating the other fraternities during the Homecoming Greek Games and taking control of the council. The Alpha Betas become so angry, that they vandalize the Tri-Lambs house in a significant way. In the end, the school forces the Alpha Betas to live in the vandalized home until it is fixed, while the nerds move into the Alpha Betas fraternity house.
