Torme Hair Metal Band

Bernie Torme started a solo career in the mid 1970’s as part of the punk rock band the Bernie Torme Band.  Even after paying his dues warming up for bands like the Boomtown Rats and Generation X, the Bernie Torme Band was struggling.  When Torme was invited to play with former Deep Purple’s vocalist, Ian Gillan, he jumped at the chance.  Torme quit Gillan’s band in 1981 and took over for the late Rhandy Rhoads on Ozzy Osbourne’s tour.

As the years went on, Torme continued his solo career under various names (ex. Bernie Torme and the Electric Gypsies, Torme, and Bernie Torme).  In the mid 80’s, the band was operating under the name Torme with future L.A. Guns vocalist Phil Lewis on the mic.  After the 80’s, Torme continued his activities.  In 2006, he began working on a new band project called G.M.T.  Torme’s new stuff is almost like a step back in time to the music he was playing in the mid 1980’s.
