Tredegar was a Welsh metal band formed in 1982 by former members of the band Budgie.  Tredegar is the name of a Welsh town about 30 miles north of Cardiff.  The band released their only studio album in 1986 (self-titled) with Carl Sentance (Persian Risk) on vocals for most songs.  Sentance has a good voice for metal, and although there is nothing that really sets Tredegar apart from other metal bands of the time, we still own this album and spin it from time to time.

Although Tredegar had a second album recorded and ready for release in 1991, the record company opted out of the deal and the album went unreleased.  The band broke up soon after with some members forming a new band called Six Ton Budgie that would later re-release some of Tredegar's work on a 1994 album called Remix & Rebirth.  The Tredegar Discography is as follows:
