Vandenberg Hair Metal Band

The great Adrian van den Berg (or Adrian Vandenberg, as most of us know him as), who was from Holland, started out in a rock band called Teaser way back in 1978.  Not long after, he started the band Vandenberg, which ultimately released three albums in the early 1980's.  Many of you might remember the song "Burning Heart" from his 1982 self-titled release, and the song "Friday Night" from his 1983 album, Heading for a Storm.  Vandenberg could be found touring with the Michael Schenker Group, Ozzy, and Kiss back in the day.

In the early 1980's, Vandenberg was approached by David Coverdale to join Whitesnake, but he initially declined.  By 1986, however, as the popularity of his solo project was waning, he decided it would be a good idea to join Whitesnake, and he initially as a session guitarist, helping the band produce their 1987 self titled release (including the guitar solo for the number 1 hit "Here I Go Again".  By their next release (Slip of the Tongue), Vandenberg was co-writing all the songs and playing side by side with Steve Vai, who was brought in after Vandenberg injured his hands.

Throughout the 1990's, Vandenberg could be found helping Whitesnake in one form or another during reunions and new studio releases.  The same can be said today, although both Coverdale and Vandenberg have solo projects in the works.  An interesting fact about Vandenberg that some people do not know, is that Vandenberg is an airbrush artist.  At the time of this writing, the Vandenberg Discography was as follows:
