Scrabble Game Show

The game show Scrabble was based on the Scrabble board game and it ran from 1985 to 1990 and was hosted by Chuck Woolery.  It had another short run in 1993, for a total of over 1300 episodes.

The first round of the game, called the Crossword Round, had the two contestants trying to guess three words based on clues given by the host.  The word was displayed, along with one letter of the word, and the contestants had to pick from tiled letters that represented letters of the word.  The tiles contained both non-related letters and three "stoppers", which would cause the player to lose a turn.  Letters were added until one of the contestants could guess the word.  The championship tournament versions of the game featured a prize of $100k.
