Troll
The original Troll movie, released in 1986, was more of a brooding fantasy film than a horror movie, but we include it hear because of Troll 2 and Troll 3. Technically, Troll 2 and Troll 3 had no plot relationship to the original movie at all. In fact, it has been said that the makers of the 2nd and 3rd movies were basically just trying to capitalize on the original movie's success. Some people consider Troll 2 to be one of the worst horror movies ever created. Troll did not do well with critics, but was still financially successful based on its low budget. Since its debut in 1986, it has earned cult movie status.
Troll starred Noah Hathaway as Harry Potter, Jr. and Michael Moriarty as Harry Potter, Sr. And yes, these Harry Potter characters predated the J.K. Rowling Harry Potter by many years. Other notable stars included Sonny Bono and a young Julia Louis-Dreyfus as well. In a nutshell, the movie is about a family moves into a troll infested apartment building in an urban city. When Noah's little sister Wendy becomes a troll after the troll takes over her body, the rest of the family becomes concerned about her new, violent tendencies. With the help of an old witch who knows what is happening, Harry J.R. goes about the business of stopping the trolls and rescuing his sister.
