Pocket Rockers
Fisher Price released these rather cheesy cassette players around 1988 (aimed at the elementary age market). They came with proprietary tapes that looked like small 8 track tapes, which each contained two songs. Fisher Price was the only manufacturer of these little tapes, but many of the top songs of the day could be purchased. Some of the songs include “Wanted Dead or Alive” (Bon Jovi), “Heaven is a Place on Earth” (Belinda Carlisle), “(I Just) Died in Your Arms Tonight” (Cutting Crew), “Footloose” (Kenny Loggins), “California Girls” (David Lee Roth), and “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go” (Wham!). The outside design of the Pocket Rockers was mean to be stylish, so they were very popular for a time. By 1991, the Pocket Rockers line was discontinued.
