Pogo Ball / Pogo Stick
The Pogo Ball was invented in 1969, but was popularized in the mid 1980’s after Hasbro began mass producing it. In some countries, it is known as a Lolo Ball, Springbal, or Disc-O. The Pogo Ball was essentially a Saturn shaped ball, encircled by a platform, that the user would bounce up and down on. Let’s be honest, the fun did not last very long with these things. Similarly, the Pogo Stick, which is essentially a compressed spring at the end of a pole, was around long before the 1980’s. Around 1978, the Pogo Stick became popular after being used in an ad campaign and just about every kid owned one. These days, the Pogo Stick is more popular than ever as an extreme sport.
