Tales from the Darkside

Tales from the Darkside was a horror series that aired from 1984 to 1988, ultimately culminating in a 1990 movie.  This series was similar to other 80’s shows in the genre, like Twilight Zone, Creepshow, and the Darkroom, except each episode only featured a single story.  Some stories were by Stephen King and Clive Barker.  The show was a mix of horror, sci-fi, and fantasy, and there were a number of episodes that were pretty funny.  There was no regular cast, but instead a series of guest actors, some of whom were pretty famous (Danny Aiello, Justine Bateman, Christian Slater, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Jodie Foster)

Each episode began with the following:

Man lives in the sunlit world of what he believes to be reality.

But...there is, unseen by most, an underworld, a place that is just as real,

but not as brightly lit...a darkside.

And ended with:

The darkside is always there, waiting for us to enter - waiting to enter us.
