UFO was a British hard rock band that formed in the late 60's. The band was a forerunner between hard rock and heavy metal. They named themselves after the London night club where they were discovered and signed to a record deal. They released their first album (UFO 1) in 1970. In 1973, UFO brought in the young Michael Schenker to help amp up their rock sound, and their 1974 album, Phenomenon, was the result. This was the album that featured the hit song "Doctor Doctor".

Schenker left UFO in 1978 and the band continued without him. There were never any mega-hits that came out of UFO, but they did have chart success with songs like "Only You Can Rock Me", "Shoot Shoot", "Young Blood", "The Writer", and "This Time". Other songs you may remember them doing are "C'Mon Everybody", "Lights Out in London" and "Too Hot to Handle". The band did not have a lot of success in the late 80's, and they broke up in 1989, only to reform in the early 1990's. In 2004, UFO hired Vinnie Moore as their guitarist, and they continued their activity well into the 2010's. At the time of this writing, the UFO Discography was as follows:
