Accept Hair Metal Band

Let's shove a bomb in everybody's what? Accept has been described as an early "speed metal" band, and although we will agree that Accept was an edgier metal band, we still liken speed metal to bands like Anthrax and Megadeath. Although less notorious in the USA (Europe really loved them), many of you may remember the German band Accept for the song "Balls to the Wall," which is actually a song about oppressive slavery.

Although Accept initially got together in the 1960's, their professional career didn't get kicked off until the late 1970's. In the early 1980's, Accept began to gain notoriety in the USA while on tour with Judas Priest. It is probably safe to say that Accept's heyday was in the early to mid 1980's, although they maintained a presence well into the late 80's. Accept produced over 10 albums throughout the 80's, most by way of Udo Dirkschneider's unmistakable voice (and short hair). Post 1980's, Accept was resurrected in some form or another with various band members and new album releases.
