Not sure exactly what it is with the egregious spelling errors by rock bands. Rough Cutt was one of those bands that never made it big, but did have some big band members. The band was also heavily influenced and developed by Ronnie James Dio (Ronnie's wife was the band's manager). The original band members consisted of Vocalist Paul Shortino, Dave Alford (drummer), Jake E. Lee (guitarist), Claude Schnell (keyboards), and Joey Cristofanilli (bass). Both Jake E. Lee and Dave Alford came to Rough Cutt from Ratt. Two more former Ratt members joined Rough Cutt latter (guitarist Chris Hager and Bassist Matt Thor). By 1982, Jake E. Lee had left the band where he ended up with Ozzy.
Initially, Rough Cutt was featured on a 1983 compilation CD for unsigned metal bands, and shortly after Warner Brothers picked up the band. Rough Cutt had two major releases, their self-titled debut in 1985, and Wants You in 1986. Rough Cutt toured with bands like Krokus, Foreigner, and of course Dio.
Shortino left the band to become the lead singer of Quiet Riot, and shortly after Rough Cutt split up. Shortino revived the band years later (2002) to record a new EP called Sneak Peak. At the time of this writing, the Rough Cutt Discography was as follows:
