Shake City was a metal band that formed in 1987 (L.A.) as a band called Hot Wheelz. At some point, the band decided to change their name to reflect the earthquake prone area of California. Like many bands, Shake City was a regular on the Southern California club circuit (Troubadour, Roxy, the Whiskey, etc.). Even after warming up for some big name bands like Kiss, Britny Fox, and Warrant, the band never landed a record deal.
In the late 1980’s (or early 1990’s), Shake City recorded a number of demos that eventually made it to an album in 2009 thanks to Eonian Records. On an interesting side note, the band’s vocalist, Adam Shore, had started out in Warrant before Jani Lane took over (in the club scene), and in hindsight, he probably should have stayed with Warrant. Shake City, in our opinion, had a solid sound. Their album is worth owning for sure. The Shake City Discography is as follows:
