Skid Row Hair Metal Band

Skid Row is one of our favorite metal bands here at ilovethe80s.com.  Skid Row formed in 1986 in Toms River, NJ.  Sebastian Bach joined the band in 1987, and they became a popular club act on the east coast.  Skid Row's founding guitarist, Dave "The Snake" Sabo, had been friends with Bon Jovi for many years, and the two had a deal to help one another out in the event one made it big before the other.  We all know who made it big first, and Bon Jovi was true to his word.  By 1988, Skid Row had signed a deal with Atlantic records and their Self-titled debut album hit the racks in 1989.  Many of you will remember the hits songs "Youth Gone Wild", "18 and Life" and "I Remember You" from that album.  They went on tour with Bon Jovi on his New Jersey tour.

By 1991, the band released the edgier album, Slave to the Grind, which was a huge success (number one the charts in the USA).  Many of you will remember the songs "Monkey Business" and "Wasted Time" from this album.  Skid Row went on tour with Guns 'N' Roses in support of this album.  By the mid 1990's, metal was barely alive, yet Skid Row still managed to release Subhuman Race and go on tour with Van Halen.

By 1996, Skid Row had parted ways, although the some members of the band did re-surface as a band called "Ozone Monday".  In 1999, Skid Row reformed (sans Bach), and could be found in the studio and on mega-metal concert tours with bands like Kiss, Motley Crue, Ratt and Slaughter.  At the time of this writing, the Skid Row Discography was as follows:
