My Two Dads
My Two Dads was a comedy that ran from 1987 to 1990 on NBC. The show starred Paul Reiser as Michael Taylor, Greg Evigan as Joey Harris, and Staci Keanan as Nicole Bradford. Another regular character worth mentioning was Judge Wilbur (Florence Stanley), who was not only the custody judge, but also their landlord.
Fans of this show will remember that after Marcy Bradford passed away, her daughter Nicole was sent to live with two men who had been courting her mother before she died: Michael Taylor (Resier) was a successful financial advisor, and Joey Harris (Evigan) a struggling artist. The two former friends despised each other over their mutual affection for Nicole’s mother, but they were both awarded joint custody, which aided in the show’s comedy. Eventually they became friends again. Although the show danced around the question, it was never revealed which one of the “dads” was Nicole’s biological father. The comedy mostly revolved around how the two dads dealt with the everyday struggles of a teenage girl.
