During his tenure as Alice Cooper’s late 80’s guitarist, Kane Roberts was working on a solo career. Roberts co-wrote nearly every song on Alice Cooper’s last three albums of the 1980’s (Constrictor, Raise Your Fist and Yell, and Trash). He was known on stage for his sheer size and guitars that would shoot out rockets. In 1987, Roberts released his first (self-titled) solo release, which actually featured a guest appearance by Alice Cooper on the song “Full Pull”.
Roberts is both a seasoned vocalist and guitar player who has worked with other heavy hitters like Steve Vai, Rod Stewart, and Kiss. Kane Roberts has a voice for AOR rock, which is a nice change over the typical screaming you hear in many bands. After his second release in 1991, he took a break from his solo career until 1999, when he started playing in a band called Phoenix Down. Roberts continued his activity well into the 2010’s.
