The Traveling Wilburys was an awesome late 80's super-group that consisted of Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne, Roy Orbison, and Tom Petty. The "Wilburys" name was a reference to the phrase "we'll bury 'em in the mix", which was a phrase that George Harrison used to refer to mistakes that would get edited out of the final product. The members got together to record a single called "Handle with Care". The record label liked the song so much, they asked the band to record an entire album. The Traveling Wiblurys Vol. 1 was released in 1988 and featured the members taking turns on vocals. Not only was "Handle with Care" a hit, but also the songs "End of the Line", "Heading for the Light", and "Last Night".
Later the same year (1988), Roy Orbison passed away. The band went ahead with a second album, and the purposely miss-numbered Traveling Wilburys Vol. 3 was released in 1990. Many of you will remember the hit song "She's My Baby" from this album. Although members of the band continued working together on various projects post Traveling Wilburys, the band did not release any new material post 1990. The Traveling Wilburys Discography is as follows:
