Private Life was a relatively short-lived band that caught the attention of Eddie Van Halen. On a trip to Shreveport, Eddie was impressed by the band’s vocalist, a woman named Kelly Breznik, and so he decided to get involved in producing the band. They released their first album, Shadows, in 1989 and then went on tour with Van Halen. You may remember the song “Last Heartbeat” from this album (as well as the music video).
In 1990, the band released their second album (self-titled), but soon faded away. Private Life was a well-polished band, incorporating keyboards and strong vocals in their music. Some may wonder why we included them in the hair metal section of this site, but take a lesson and you will see they straddle the fence between polished metal and AOR rock. The Private Life Discography is as follows:
- 1989: Shadows
- 1990: Private Life
