Great Britain's Nick Lowe started his musical career way back in 1967 as a member of the band Kippington Lodge, and then later Brinsley Schwarz. By the mid 1970's, after having been a member of the band Rockpile for a time, Lowe began his solo career (although in reality he was still collaborating with the Rockpile members).
Nick Lowe did meet with some success in the 70's. He charted in the UK in 1978 with the song "I Love the Sound of Breaking Glass", and in 1979 with the the songs "Crackin' Up" and "Cruel to Be Kind" from Labour of Lust (the song charted at 12 in the UK, Canada, and the USA). He did not have any huge chart success in the 80's, although some of you may remember the song "Teacher Teacher", which was a minor hit. Another minor hit was "I Knew the Bride (When She Used to Rock 'n' Roll)" from 1985.
Nick Lowe continued releasing material well into the 1990's and beyond. He was known to still be active in the 2010's on stage and in studio. The Nick Lowe Discography is as follows:
