Scarlet Red was a Christian metal band that started out as a secular band called Lust. After the drummer became a Christian, he left the band and Lust called it quits. Over time, each member of the band became a Christian, and years later they reunited to form Scarlet Red. The band was somewhat unique as a Christian band in that it featured a female vocalist. The band released one album on the Pure Metal label in 1989 (Don't Dance with Danger).
As Christians ourselves, we were aware of many of the lesser-known Christian metal acts back in the day. We have owned this album for years. Fans of 80's Christian metal acts like Stryper will probably like Scarlet Red. They had a more popish metal sound than bands like Bloodgood or Barren Cross. The Scarlet Red Discography is as follows:
