Slik Toxik Hair Metal Band

Slik Toxik was a Canadian metal band that formed in 1988 as a band called Portrait.  It was suggested that they change their name to stand out from the pack, and it was as Slik Toxik that they caught the eye of manager during a show at the Siboney Club in Toronto.  After some time, the band finally nailed a deal with Capitol Records, and their EP debut, Smooth and Deadly, was released in 1991.  Their first full-fledged album, Doin' the Nasty, was released in 1992.  The band was a big hit in Canada in the early 1990's, even winning a Juno Award for Hard Rock Album of the Year (1993).

By the time Slik Toxik released their follow-up album, Irrelevant (1994), the album title turned out to be a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy.  It was over.  It is worth noting that this second album was very different from their first album.  Irrelevant was more closely matched to the changing musical trends of the early 1990's than it is given credit for.  The Slik Toxik Discography is as follows:
