TNT Hair Metal Band

TNT, formed in 1982 in Norway, was a very talented group of musicians who played melodic, heavy rock.  Their initial debut was a self-titled release in 1982, which was their only non-English language release.  As a nod to all you Norwegians out there, you may remember the single "Harley-Davidson" from this album.

For their U.S. debut album, TNT hired American vocalist Tony Harnell for the release of 1984's Knights of the New Thunder.  Tony Harnell was the band's vocalist until, and the vocalist most of us are familiar with.  Some of you may remember the song "Seven Seas" from this album, which received heavy rotation on MTV.  Their follow up album, Tell No Tales (1987), brought the band great success and recognition with the singles "10,000 Lovers (In One)" and "Everyone's a Star".  This album was a huge hit in Norway and Sweden, even out-selling big stars like Michael Jackson.  And of course Japan loved TNT.  In the states, TNT toured with Stryper, Twisted Sister, and Great White in support.

Intuition was released in 1989, and became the band's most popular US album. The title song and subsequent MTV video afford TNT their own headlining gig in smaller venues. are by far our favorites, but all of their albums are very good.  Post 1992, things started slowing down for TNT (like many metal bands), but they still managed to release a few more album in the 1990's.  By 2006, Tony Harnell had left TNT, and a new vocalist was acquired.  At the time of this writing, the only surviving member of TNT was guitarist Ronnie Le Tekro.  The TNT Discography is as follows:
