What can we say about the guy who played the devil in the 1986 movie,Crossroads.  At 14 years of age, Steve Vai began getting guitar lessons from Joe Satriani.  Vai started his career as a music transcriptionist for Frank Zappa, and by 1980, was part of Zappa's band.  In addition to his solo career, Steve Vai has also played with bands like Alcatrazz, David Lee Roth, Public Image Ltd., Ozzy Osbourne, and Whitesnake.

As far as Steve Vai's solo career goes, he started out is first album, Flex-Able, was released in 1984.  Vai's most well known solo album is probably 1990's Passion and Warfare.  This album is often widely recognized for the song "For the Love of God" and it's fret ripping solo.  As the years have gone on, Vai could be found releasing new material and touring with heavy hitters like Frank Zappa, Billy Sheenan, Tony Macalpine, Dream Theatre, and Dweezil Zappa.

In the heyday of the 1980's and early 1990's, Steve Vai was as recognized for his flowery Ibanez series monkey grip guitars as he was for his music.  These days Via lives in California and is married to the old bass player from the band Vixen.  Steve is also an avid beekeeper and vegetarian.  At the time of this writing, Steve Vai's solo career Discography was as follows:
