Sword Hair Metal Band

Sword was a heavy metal band from Canada that formed in the early 80's in Saint Bruno, Quebec.  The band landed their first commercial contract in 1984 on a label called Aquarius, and their first album, Metalized, was released in 1986.  Their follow-up release, Sweet Dreams, was released in 1988.  Sword had high enough sales to warrant bookings as the warm-up for bands like Motorhead, Alice Cooper, and even Metalilica (Master of Puppets tour in 1986). 

Sword was not a thrash band, but their sound was a bit heavier than many groups at the time.  Shortly after their 1988 release, Sword broke up.  Vocalist Rick Hughes went on to form the band Saints and Sinners as the others went on to other projects as well.  In 2006, a greatest hits album was released.  In 2011, it was rumored that a reunion was in the works.  At the time of this writing, the Sword Discography was as follows:
