Tora Tora Hair Metal Band

Tora Tora means "Tiger Tiger" in Japanese.  Neat, huh?  Okay, maybe its not so neat, but consider that "Tora Tora" was a Japanese code phrase for attacking Pearl Harbor in 1941 and this band's first album, in 1989, was called Surprise Attack.  By golly, Sherlock, I believe you are on to something!

Tora Tora, in our opinion, is one of those little known gems that sprang from the days of metal.  The band itself formed in Memphis, Tennessee back in 1985.  After winning a local battle of the bands and receiving local radio air time, it wasn't long before their 1989 aforementioned release.  The album hit 47 on the Billboard Top 200 and some of you may remember the song "Dancin' with a Gypsy", which was featured on the soundtrack for Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure.

Their 1992 follow up release, Wild America, may have not charted as high as their debut, but we are hear to tell you it was a good album (some of you may know the song "Amnesia" from this album).  The band's third album,Revolution Day, recorded in 1994, was not released until 2011.  The albumsBombs Away and Miss B Haven are previously unreleased studio recordings of their first and second albums respectively.

Tora Tora briefly reunited in 2008 and was active at the time of this writing (2012).  The Tora Tora Discography is currently as follows:
