Southgang was formed in the late 80's in Atlanta, Georgia as a band called Byte the Bullet. After moving to Los Angeles and before releasing their debut album in 1991 (Tainted Angel), they changed their name to Southgang. Some of you may remember the title track from this release, which did receive air time on MTV's Headbanger's Ball. The band's second release, Group Therapy, was released in 1992.

We really like Southgang. There wasn't really much separating them from the heavy hitter metal bands of the day, but that is not really a bad thing. Their music was light-hearted with a good beat and some Southern influence. We own both albums and recommend the group (we think they sounded a bit like Steelheart).
