Tangier Hair Metal Band

Tangier was a hard rock band from Philadelphia.  They were a bit more rock than metal, but we include them here because they played in the same clubs as heavy metal hitters and would even go on to open for Cinderella on that band's second tour.  Tangier released their first album (self-titled) in 1985, and their second release (Four Winds) in 1989.  Some of you may remember the songs "On the Line" (peaked at 67) and "Southbound Train" from this release.  Their last album, Stranded (1991), featured a song by the same name, which had a music video that featured Pamela Anderson.

It wasn't too long after their last album release that members of the band went their separate ways.  Vocalist Bill Mattson has a voice for rock music, so if you are more a fan of hard rock than heavy metal, then you might find you like Tangier.  We could have easily put Tangier in the rock section of this site along bands like REO Speedwagon, the Call, and Survivor.  The Tangier Discography is as follows:
