Talisman was a metal band from Sweden that was formed in the late 1980's by bass player Marcel Jacob. Jacob had worked with vocalist Jeff Scott Soto on Yngwie Malmsteen's Marching Out album in 1985, and Jacob managed to recruit him as the vocalist for Talisman. The band had their first released ready by 1989, but due to financial issues at Electra, the album was not released until 1990. Talisman was a huge hit in Sweden, but further label issues kept their international exposure to a minimum. Eventually, they would get some European exposure, as well as in Japan, but stateside they remained little known.

It was 1993 before Talsiman released their second album, called Genesis. If you liked Jeff Scott Soto's vocals with Yngwie, then you will really like Talisman. As the years rolled on, Talisman continued releasing new material. Their newest material is still hard rock, but not as melodic as their earlier work (in our opinion). In 2009, Marcel Jacob committed suicide. The band did continue to play together from time to time sans Jacob. The Talisman Discography is as follows:
